Let's go back in time, shall we, to this week's Nu Music Night at the Horseshoe Tavern.
The night begins with the pulsating rock of Distorsis:
From weathered to the unfettered-- next to take stage is the sandswept, prog-rock sound of Frail Fragment:
Lenny of Frail Fragment joins us in the basement to banter about his personal views on love and war. And record-making, too:
Also on the bill tonight is Moondog Uproar. They play us a solid, brash sock-hop dance-rock:
The 11:40 closer is always a crap shoot. Tonight's countryish closer, the Low Heroes, has its moments but we could do without the strained vocal ad-libs:
The combined variety of experience, influences and inventiveness that the bands collectively give us each Nu Music Nite is something unique that I haven't experienced on a consistent, weekly basis anywhere else but at the Horseshoe. Kudos to all bands putting themselves out there on that time-honoured stage :)
I'll look out for you next Tuesday at the Horseshoe Tavern!
